CONAKO 2024 in Lausanne

The Conako24, organized by three different LOMs from Lausanne, treated attendees to an unforgettable weekend filled with excitement and celebration. The weekend kicked-off with the General Assembly held in the prestigious House of Parliament of Lausanne, more than 200 years old and recently completely renovated – impressive. 

Friday evening’s „on the Water“ event with mermaids, captains, and sailors took place in an industrial venue, where everyone embraced the theme and enjoyed connecting with one another.

Throughout Saturday, participants had a wide array of options, including attending trainings, listening to keynote speakers, and taking part in competitions such as best speaker or debating. These activities provided valuable learning opportunities and facilitated personal and professional enhancement.

Saturday’s Gala was a night for celebration of achievements, featuring a delightful four-course menu and of course followed by a great party. The excitement and pride among individuals, each LOM but as well different cantons when people were called to the stage to receive their price, was incredible to see. And of course, the highlight of the evening was, when we, JCI Basel, won the price for the best LOM Switzerland 2024!

On my way home to Basel I reflected this weekend. For first-time participants like myself, the immense organization for this weekend, but at the same time the sense of belonging and the mix between inspiring trainings and great parties made the experience truly remarkable.
