On July 18, 2024, the AK Training/ International from JCI Basel hosted a workshop entitled “5 fields of action you need to master as a team leader”. This workshop was aimed at young managers and those who want to become one. It was led by Alain Müller, an experienced entrepreneur and leadership expert.
In the first part of the workshop, Alain Müller highlighted challenges such as high workloads, high error rates in the team, lack of independence, poor team performance and a lack of trust. He presented levers that managers can use to counter these challenges.
A central concept that was discussed in the workshop was the “Circle of Concern”. This helps managers to concentrate on the aspects that they can influence directly instead of focusing on external factors that are beyond their control. This leads to better self-organization and a proactive leadership style.
In the second part of the workshop, the participants developed solutions for their daily leadership challenges. They benefited from Müller’s extensive experience and practical tips.
Alain Müller started his entrepreneurial career as a teenager and successfully led his first company through its growth phase. He later worked as Head of Marketing and Sales and is now Managing Partner at Gsponer Partners AG. Müller is known for his captivating stories of everyday leadership and his LinkedIn posts under the hashtag #SceneChange, in which he combines experiences from the military and the private sector.
